CUPE Local 703 proudly represents over 800 members employed by School District No. 42 Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. We are the only recognized bargaining agent for non-teaching employees of School District No. 42.
Our objectives are to secure the best possible pay, benefits, working conditions, job security, pensions and retiree benefits for our members and generally advance the economic and social welfare of our members and all workers. We support CUPE in reaching the goals set out in Article II of the CUPE Constitution and provide an opportunity for our members to influence and shape our future through free democratic trade unionism. We encourage the settlement by negotiation and mediation of all disputes between members and their employer.
Regular monthly General Meetings are held at Thomas Haney Secondary School in the Suddaby Room on Saturday mornings beginning at 9:00am.
We acknowledge that our schools and worksites are located on the shared traditional unceded territories of the Katzie First Nation and Kwantlen First Nation. In the spirit of inclusion and with the appreciation for diversity expressed by the First Nations and Metis Elders we recognize that we represent a wide range of cultures including the aboriginal cultures.
