CUPE Local 703 acknowledges we are fortunate to be able to operate within the ancestral, traditional and unceded shared territories of the Katzie First Nation and the Kwantlen First Nation. CUPE Local 703 proudly represents over 1,000 members employed by School District No. 42, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. We are the only recognized bargaining agent for non-teaching employees of School District No. 42. Our objectives are to secure the best possible pay, benefits, working conditions, job security, pensions and retiree benefits for our members and generally advance the economic and social welfare of our members and all workers. We support CUPE in reaching the goals set out in Article II of the CUPE Constitution and provide an opportunity for our members to influence and shape our future through free democratic trade unionism. We encourage the settlement by negotiation and mediation all disputes between members and their employer.
As per our local bylaws, regular membership meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month, with the exception of July and August. Meetings are held at Thomas Haney Secondary School in the Suddaby Room, unless otherwise posted, beginning at 9:00 am.
